This ceramic wall sculpture presents an anthropomorphic form inspired by the dark and shifting character of wetlands and swamps. The composition combines a face with flowing, wave-like forms, creating a surreal presence that appears both natural and otherworldly. Layers of oxides and glazes create deep green, blue, and black surfaces with complex tonal variation and depth of swamp. The enigmatic character of swamplands inspires the expressive form and layered textures of the work, which reflects transformation and unseen natural forces.
