Description

“Firebugs” symbolizes the delicate balance between nature’s strength and fragility. The word “Firebugs” represents both the insects and the pyromaniacs, symbolizing the destructive forces that harm the environment. Inspired by global environmental terrorism and arson, this botanical sculpture reflects nature’s resilience despite human harm. Every element, from the miniature plant to the bug sculpture, is sculpted by hand with hyper-realistic details. The wood art base and whimsical art style, featuring insect art and realistic botanical art, create a striking statement piece. Perfect as an entomology gift or unique indoor sculpture, it highlights the power of nature’s survival.

Featured in the “What Is Art?” exhibition at Boomer Gallery in London and the My Climate and Art exhibition in Halifax, this work has been recognized in Wildfire Art – Wildfire Magazine. A true piece of original art, this one-of-a-kind sculpture blends modern sculpture with oddities and curiosities, making it an exceptional addition to any collection or home decor.

Materials

Polymer clay, resin, oil paints, real burned wood stump with wax finish

Production Method

Every detail in this piece, petal or sepal, is sculpted from scratch from various materials, such as polymer and air-dry clays, and others, and then meticulously hand-painted for a lifelike finish. Each creation encapsulates the inspiring beauty of nature, striking a perfect balance between botanical accuracy and artistic imagination.

Care Instructions

Polymer and air-dry clay items are thin but durable and flexible. Although, there are a few tips for your consideration:
– Use a dry brush or slightly wet napkin to clean an item.
– Avoid long contact with water. If your flower gets wet, let it dry immediately to restore its properties. You can use a hairdryer, but only cold air is suitable. If your product has lost shape, heat it with a hair dryer for a few seconds, give it the required shape, and then fix it with cold air.
– These items become fragile if temperatures below 0°C (32°F). You should be gentler when using them. After being at low temperatures, give your flowers 15-20 minutes in the room to
restore their flexibility.
– It is recommended that jewelry or accessories be stored in separate boxes.
– Do not put your items under pressure. Do not burn, scratch, or eat.
