Description
“Pensée” draws on the dual meaning of the French word pensée, which means “thought” and pansies in bloom. A lizard traverses a barren desert while carrying seashells from which pansies emerge, creating a surreal encounter between life and desolation. The work reflects on environmental degradation, conflict, and the increasing fragility of the world around us, while inviting consideration of humanity’s responsibility for the future it is creating. Blending surrealism, natural forms, and symbolic storytelling, this original sculpture serves as both a contemplative artwork and a striking statement piece for collectors of contemporary art and unusual objects.
