Description

“Rebirth. Bombax Ceiba” celebrates nature’s resilience through the image of the Bombax Ceiba tree, known for its striking red flowers and ability to thrive in challenging environments. Emerging from a bark-textured cube covered with patches of moss, the vibrant flower symbolizes renewal, growth, and the enduring strength of life. Every element, from the flower’s delicate stamens to the textured surface of the base, has been sculpted and painted by hand with a focus on botanical accuracy and hyperrealistic detail.

Featured in the Canadian SciArt publication A Bunch of, dedicated to the Malvaceae plant family, this contemporary art piece combines botanical art, contemporary sculpture, and natural symbolism. A unique statement piece for collectors of botanical art, nature-inspired decor, and contemporary mixed-media sculpture.

Materials

Polymer clay, papier mache, texture paste, acrylic and oil paints, varnish.

Production Method

Every detail in this piece, petal or sepal, is sculpted from scratch from various materials, such as polymer and air-dry clays, and others, and then meticulously hand-painted for a lifelike finish. Each creation encapsulates the inspiring beauty of nature, striking a perfect balance between botanical accuracy and artistic imagination.

Care Instructions

Polymer and air-dry clay items are thin but durable and flexible. Although, there are a few tips for your consideration:
– Use a dry brush or slightly wet napkin to clean an item.
– Avoid long contact with water. If your flower gets wet, let it dry immediately to restore its properties. You can use a hairdryer, but only cold air is suitable. If your product has lost shape, heat it with a hair dryer for a few seconds, give it the required shape, and then fix it with cold air.
– These items become fragile if temperatures below 0°C (32°F). You should be gentler when using them. After being at low temperatures, give your flowers 15-20 minutes in the room to
restore their flexibility.
– It is recommended that jewelry or accessories be stored in separate boxes.
– Do not put your items under pressure. Do not burn, scratch, or eat.
