The word "Firebugs" represents both insects and pyromaniacs. Nature is a powerful being we all need to reckon with. At the same time, it is so fragile and so often hurt by people. And even in the most hopeless situations, nature still manages to survive and be reborn. This work was inspired by the appalling acts of environmental terrorism and arson attacks on forests all over the world. I sculpt every detail, leaf, mushroom, or bug in my artwork with a hyper-realistic touch from scratch. I’ve perfected over a hundred plant species through years of practice, continually expanding my skills to include the animal kingdom. My art’s essence is studying and recreating, not just the final sculpture.
