This sculpture is dedicated to civilian women who, throughout all wars, including the ongoing war in Ukraine, have always been the most vulnerable group in society. The most horrifying crimes, such as rape, are committed specifically against them, as they are the most defenseless. The flames of war consume the delicate souls and bodies, represented in this artwork by orchids, an enduring symbol of femininity and fragility in every sense. They are forever marked with pain and blood and forced to carry this imprint throughout their lives. This artwork is my voice in support of all women who have been violated during times of war. These victims should not remain voiceless and forgotten.
This sculpture was meticulously sculpted using a range of materials - air-dry polymer clay (flowers), self-hardening clay (flames), acrylic paints, and varnish - to capture its subject's fragility and resilience. Each detail, including the tiniest petal, was modeled from scratch.
